A researcher is sought for the Health Protection Agency funded project on ‘Awareness and
perceptions of the risks of exposure to radon in homes’.
The project aims to inform the development and implementation of the Department of Health radiation
protection policy through a population-based study of people’s awareness and perceptions of the
risks of radon in the home, and health-protection (remedial) behaviours to reduce indoor radon
levels.
The post involves the design and analysis of a population-based survey and policy interviews, and
the use of multilevel modelling.
You should have a good first degree and a Masters degree (or equivalent experience) in a relevant
quantitative social science discipline (e.g. environmental psychology, human geography, social
epidemiology, or environmental studies)
