You are invited to participate in a national multidisciplinary seminar
on 'The military and security uses of neuroscience: ethical, governance
and policy challenges ' This is the sixth meeting in an ESRC funded
seminar series on Neuroscience, Identity and Society, jointly organised
between the Institute for Science and Society (ISS, formerly IGBiS,
University of Nottingham) and the BIOS Centre for the Study of
Bioscience, Biomedicine, Biotechnology and Society (BIOS, LSE). It aims
to bring together social scientists, psychologists, cognitive
neuroscientists, philosophers, psychiatrists, anthropologists, and
scholars from a range of other disciplines to discuss the application of
neuroscientific knowledge in the area of security and defence and
explore the social, ethical and policy implications raised by these
developments.
Date: Wednesday 27th June 2007
Time: 11.00 - 17.00, followed by a reception
Venue: CARR Seminar Room, London School of Economics.

(Sociology, LSE) and Dr Paul Martin (ISS, Nottingham).
