CALL FOR PAPERS
Normative Political Theory and Public Policy Panel
Workshops In Political Theory - Fourth Annual Conference
Manchester Metropolitan University
3rd September, 2007 - 5th September, 2007
Papers are invited from researchers concerned with the relationship between
normative political theory and public policy. The panel encourages
contributions from the broad public policy community, including think-
tanks, research councils, and universities. Papers should include analysis
of both normative principles and policy implications.
Areas of interest to the panel include (but not restricted to):
• Education – selection, citizenship, religion
• Childhood and Family Life – rights of children and parents,
parental partiality, life chances, moral development of children
• Health – responsibility and treatment, markets
• Law – equality and access to justice, punishment and rehabilitation
• Democracy – organized labour, political parties, participation
Each paper will be allowed 30 minutes for presentation and 30 minutes for
discussion. Longer versions may be submitted for pre-circulation.
