In my particular field of endeavour I am stuck with medical based journals that
never shift the focus from mending the individual to mending society, so it is
not likely I am going to come across any literature relating to awareness
raising when the writers are the ones most sorely in need of it.
I hope through my being there to bring a breath of fresh air into the deficit
models of disability prevalent in teaching about it.
For that reason I sometimes find it rather hard to find relevant material to
support my case.
What I need, and I hope someone can give me, is any reference to research
validating the effectiveness of video in awarness raising and perspective
changing on disability, if there is bugger all on disability, on gender and race
issues I guess would be relevant as well.
As for the evidence of the effectiveness of malicious media including videos on
the colonisation of societies group mind, there is plenty of that available from
madison avenue, for our enemy walks abroad like a roaring lion devouring who he
will.
So if anyone dares to mention cure autism now, or autism speaks as serious
contributors to any debate on this matter whatever I shall take personal
responsibility in shooting them ......
