Greetings
I am in the process of re-vamping a museum accessions register I wrote
(to be released under the GNU GPL) and am moving from a "record card"
style format, where each item has a number of pre-defined fields, to a
more RDF-like system where each item is a node described by an number of
n-tuples of metadata.
This system will not only be for internal cataloguing but will present a
public view of exhibits, constituting the major part of the museum's
forthcoming Web site.
Where possible, I am trying to match the terms currently used (from the
South Australian History Trust) to Dublin Core.
Is anyone already classifying museum items using Dublin Core and, if so,
are there any examples I could look at? If I can avoid re-inventing the
wheel, then so much the better.
Cheers
M
