The Effectiveness of Electronic Communications Sector Regulation in
Europe - Research Findings and their Policy Implications
7 May 2007 Brussels, BelgiumThe upcoming review of the European
regulatory framework for communication services should take into account
the experiences to date as well as encompassing prospective market
changes. During this event, leading experts from academia and industry
will analyse existing findings on the relationships between telecoms
regulation and market development in Europe, discuss the allocation of
regulatory competences between European and national and present new
guidelines.

2007)The European Commission invites citizens and other stakeholders to
contribute to the development of the European Research Area (ERA) by
participating in the online ERA consultation. The consultation takes the
form of a questionnaire, the contents of which reflect and expand upon
the questions and issues raised in the Green Paper "The European
Research Area: New Perspectives".

EU-US eHealth Policy Workshop
10 May 2007 Brussels, BelgiumThis workshop will focus on
interoperability, certification and improving patient safety and
healthcare quality through IT. Panelists and open discussions will
focus on those areas where transatlantic collaboration could prove
mutually beneficial. High-level speakers from EU institutions and
Member State governments, the US government, academia and industry will
address issues related to standardization, best practices & lessons
learned, and policy harmonization. Registration is limited - deadline:
