I don't think so. They both provide the same library file (libglut).

Hmm... that could be why the test for Glut below is failing.

To diagnose this I'd like to see config.log for coot's configure (fink
may have cleared it up) and
$ ls /sw/include/GL
$ ls /sw/lib/lib*glut*
