PACR Review 2007
Consultation with PACR accredited conservators
PACR has now been in operation for seven years. The 2003 review focused on
the professional standards and how PACR worked in practice. Four years on
PACR is well established and there is a different set of questions to
address. In addition to this internal consultation we will be seeking the
views of a much wider circle of stakeholders including educators,
employers, commissioners and related professional bodies.
Your input is valuable to this review to help the PACR Management Board
identify the future developments of PACR for the next five years.
Please consider the questions below and return the form as a Word document
attachment to Susan Bradshaw, Accreditation Manager by email

Q1. What did you think you would gain from being PACR accredited?
Q2. To what extent have your expectations been met?
Q3 Do you think being an ACR adds value to your professional standing?
Why/ Why not?
Q4. Do you feel the PACR brand is strong enough and widely-enough known
that it would be disadvantageous to change it?
Q5a. Do you think the public would feel the marque ‘accredited conservation
professional’ might offer a higher degree of assurance than ‘accredited
conservator-restorer’? Do you think other stakeholders (e.g. employers,
funders) would find the concept of ACP easier than ACR to grasp?
Q5b. Have you any alternative suggestions?
Q6 What three things do you think would improve PACR?
Thank you for your time
