To member organisations preparing bids for funding under the
current JISC Capital Call - http://www.jisc.ac.uk/circular0107
--------------------------------------------------------------
Colleagues,
You will note that under the current JISC Capital Call "Engagement with
the Community", i.e. "the degree to which the proposal demonstrates an
openness and willingness to work with and share findings with the JISC
community and to work in partnership with JISC in forward planning,
dissemination and evaluation, and to continue to make available the
findings beyond the project period" is now a 20% criteria by which
proposals will be judged by JISC.
In the light of this, the following may be relevant to you if you are
bidding:
i) ALT's capacity to provide, by prior agreement, "event organising"
services for bidders, including on-line booking, an extensive knowledge
of "technology-friendly" venues within the UK, and a successful
"template" for organising events for the learning technology community
ranging from small workshops to big conferences;
ii) our web-based Newsletter - http://newsletter.alt.ac.uk/ - as an
accessible vehicle for reporting project updates and findings;
iii) our annual conference (ALT-C) as a potential dissemination channel
for project findings, subject to proposals being successful in the
review process. (Our 2008 conference will be held in Leeds between 9 and
11 September.)
If you would like to discuss an ALT involvement in a project proposal,
please contact me in the first instance.
Regards,
Seb Schmoller
