We are seeking an enthusiastic researcher with a strong interest in
health services research and improving health care quality.
The post is based in the Clinical Effectiveness Unit, a collaboration
between the London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine and The Royal
College of Surgeons of England, two leading UK institutions in the field
of clinical effectiveness and audit of surgical care. The CEU plays a
key role both nationally and internationally in shaping and guiding
surgical audit. This post provides an excellent opportunity for the
successful candidate to be involved in high profile national studies of
the quality of surgical care.
Applicants must have a degree (MSc or PhD) in health services research,
statistics, epidemiology or a related discipline as well as some
experience in analysing large complex data sets and writing up and
communicating findings. Abilities to manage large-scale research
projects and to liaise with healthcare professionals are also needed.
The post is offered full-time for 3 years. Salary will be in the
non-clinical Research Fellow or Lecturer scale (£31,594 - £ 42,262) per
annum inclusive, depending on qualifications and experience.
