My father owns a motability scooter, and he uses it all the time on
footpaths, as well as inside shopping centres etc.
I don't know the letter of the law, but I don't think their use is
restricted. He has certainly never had any problems.

Subject: Mobility Scooters
Does anyone know if there is any actual legislation which states that it
is legal for mobility scooters to use the public footpath? A colleague
of mine has just asked the question that, bearing in mind that it is not
legal for push bikes to be on paths, is is legal for mobility scooters?
I have said yes it is but don't know if there is actual legislation to
back me up.
Thanks
