Hi,
I work for London Underground as the Engineering Manager of a programme to
install lifts in a number of stations. As part of our fire strategy at a
station we need to demonstrate that we can evacuate non-ambulant
passengers. We would normally use a train or evacuation lifts however this
is not always possible and I am looking for advice and guidance on stair
climbers that do not require adjustment for wheelchairs. Station staff
cannot transfer passengers from their wheelchair to a climber so it must be
a 'one size fits all' solution.
I have arranged demonstrations to be given by vendors of StairMate
(standard and Major II) tracked climbers and the LiftKar PT Uni. I would
grateful for any pointers on;
any other types of climbers
specifications for supply
risk assessments
questions for vendors/tender evaluation
maintenance
anything else you can think of.
Many thanks
Graham Simms
