Hi - got your assignment in ?!
Could they not put a 'bump' in the path so the path was raised up to the level of the entrance , rather than putting in a ramp up to the door where clearly there isnt room for that. He would have to get LA permission and it is not likely to be cheap of course.
If not www.Portaramp.co.uk do a variety of portable ramps for using to access buildings that can be deployed then removed by one person. But there will need as a minimum for a call button of some kind, although if these are appointments it would be hoped that they could meet someone outside and deploy the ramp for them.
Or I guess he could do home visits for no extra charge? I guess it depends in reality how many people are likely to enter his premises unannounced?
It is all about being reasonable at the end of the day.
Kind Regards

Subject: Temporary ramp
Hi everyone,
I visited a solicitors premises in a welsh valley area yesterday.
He wants to make it more accessible.
The front door is accessed from the high street pavement of standard
width. At the edge of the pavement is a railing.
It has a small step leading into the building with no possibility of
placing a permanent ramp there.
What issues would he have to consider if he was to use a temporary ramp
at the step when clients who are wheelchair users wish to enter?
Where could he get one from?
Hoping someone can help
Jan
