I was very sad to see an obituary to my old friend in the Times today. John
Henry was a terrific thinker, whom I phoned on many occasions to get help
with complex overdoses, and who always gave pragmatic, easy to follow
advice. He must have been responsible for more lives saved than almost any
other toxicologist. Although his career happened because of modern medicine
(he received a renal transplant in 1976) he was one of those wonderful
people who gave back far more than he took. Thank you, John.
Best Wishes,
Rowley.
