Kent 2007 will provide the opportunity for social psychologists to present
their diverse theoretical and methodological approaches to “Groups, Politics,
and Organizations”. The conference will provide a platform to link theoretical
and applied social psychology.
The Social Psychology Section has invited keynote talks by Professor Marilynn
Brewer from Ohio State University, USA; Professor Robin Martin from Aston
Business School, UK; and Professor Ervin Staub from University of
Massachusetts, USA. There are also a number of invited symposia on a range of
themes and approaches to social psychology.
This is the final call for symposia, individual papers, and posters. The
deadline for submission is 25th May 2007. Please see [

more details. Each session lasts 30 minutes (20-25 minutes talk, 5-10 minutes
questions), symposia should consist of 4 – 6 participants (including discussant
where applicable).
ATTENTION POSTGRADUATES: We have organized a special pre-conference event for
postgraduates starting at 1pm on 4th September. We are privileged to have
contributions from Dominic Abrams, Michael Carmichael, Richard Crisp, Roger
Giner-Sorolla, Miles Hewstone, Norb Kerr, Craig Parks, Clifford Stott, and Mark
Van Vugt. Workshops will cover topics such as applying for postdoctoral
funding, what to expect from your viva, current approaches and methodologies,
and publishing in social psychology. Please see the website for more details.
We have fifteen bursaries of £100. To be eligible you must be attending both
the postgraduate event and presenting at the main conference. Priority will be
given to BPS Social Psychology Section members, and those who can demonstrate
financial hardship.
