This is a particularly optional message to read, let alone
respond to!
I have put some webpages together. This isnt a final version-
it needs editing and tidying up. They arent particularly
whizzy (I always write things too long, and I did most of it
in html so dont expect cool design!). It did start off as
one page, but then I chopped off some chunks to other pages.
I did these pages as when I sent the list a message early
Feb about my post being at risk, I got several wise and
helpful replies from people who had been in that situation.
I particularly liked the idea of double-digging to let off
steam!
And from the replies, I became aware of how many others were
currently facing redundancy. Given all the time available, I
also started doing more thinking and surfing and stuff.
I would welcome anything important to add or change, for
example what its like if you are redundant and have a
partner and/or kids?
I have been ever so busy since I lost my job at the end of
Feb- not quite sure with what! Lovely not commuting, and I
have had lovely weather. Lots of pottering in the garden.
And I have got into a reasonable routine of searching a
range of relevant job listings.
Best wishes to you all, and particularly to others in the
same boat as me.

PS if you follow the link to my home page, there is a link
from there to a page with patient education refs- could be
of interest as an example of 'canned searches' easily
produced via PubMed. Clicking the relevant link runs the
search. Let me know if you want to know how to do it. If I
get requests on that, I'll do a message for the list.
