Ok in summary
- some people have managed to repackage it(and done the legal work as
well!) and it works, could we get hold of the msi\mst and relevant files
you guys used?
- some people have not had that much luck repackaging it (which is our
experience so far)- would we be able to get hold of your vbscripts and
xcacls commands
- some people are using the alternative which seems to be ok'ish
- one person had the enterprise manager (Hallam) as it seems you guys
did your home work and found out this was the only legal route at that
point in time - would you be able to let us know what the current costs
are for doing it this way please?
It seems that no one mentioned the Real Player Enterprise Edition, it's
standalone and free, you just cant manage it with out the paid for
manager.
Has any one tried to play around with this one at all, the only real
issue I can see is that because you cant control it's behaviour it
scoops up all the file associations that it wants. I can see how we
could "sort" it by putting it in an desktop image and then configuring
it as we want and that then goes through Ghost or some such scenario but
it would be nice to be able to deploy centrally and not have to tinker
too much in an image, if that makes sense.
Thanks for all the help people!
