Dear All,
Re: 'The EU and the governance of sport: policy and perspectives'
We are pleased to be able to announce that the Second Annual Sport&EU (the
Association for the Study of Sport in the European Union) Workshop will be held
at the University of Chester on 6-7 July 2007.
The overall objective of the workshop, titled ‘The EU and the governance of sport:
policy and perspectives’, is to consider, from a variety of theoretical and policy
perspectives, the opportunities and challenges facing future governance of sport in
the EU, and the consequences these may have for the relationships between
governmental and non-governmental bodies who are centrally involved in the
organisation and administration of sport.
Please find attached to this email a Call for Papers for the Workshop.
Abstracts (no longer than 250 words), together with the author’s institutional
affiliation and biographical details, should be sent as a word file by email to the
organisers, Andy Smith and Chris Platts, at [log in to unmask] by no
later than 25 May 2007.
Please forward details of the workshop to any colleagues you may be interested
in attending the workshop.
We look forward to hearing from you soon.
Best wishes,
Andy Smith and Chris Platts
