Hmmmm....
I got some errors when I tried to use the coordinate files and
noticed the following in the documentation of spm_eeg_inv_ReadPolhemus:
% It is assumed that the .pol file contains the location (cm) of
fiducials
% (sampled twice), followed by the location of the sensors. In some
% instances the first few channel locations may pertain to reference
% channels; the skip variable allows these to be skipped if necessary.
% The fiducial locations are flaged with the strings 'NZ','LE' and 'RE';
% indicating the Nasion, left and right eare respectively
This seems to contradict the documentation provided for
create_fid_files:
% I edited the .pol files to REMOVE the first few lines with
% fiducial information.
So I guess I don't have an answer for Carsten's question after all.
I'm a little confused now myself. I too would very much appreciate
some clarification of the procedure to be followed. What I've been
able to observe of this EEG module with the sample dataset has been
very intriguing and I would very much like to try it out. The
writers have clearly spent quite a lot of effort in devising this
ingenious extension to SPM and I am looking forward to exploring what
they have accomplished with it.
Also, a request. I have 3D coordinate files but they are not raw
Polhemus files so they don't need to be rotated and so forth. It
would be helpful to have some options at this step to accommodate
alternative coordinate files.
Cheers!
Joe
