We have about 14 sites across England, Scotland and Wales and have only
one confidential waste service provider who coordinate and supply the
service for all those areas. So with a bit of careful though and
planning it can work.
It was one of the first things I did here after getting senior buy-in
and has been in place for 3 years and have been very pleased with the
way it has worked. When the service was launched, it was also a good
opportunity to sell and advertise records management to all as it
touches everyone.
We use confidential waste bins which are collected on a four weekly
cycle and adjust the numbers to suit the business need.
Regards
Mark

Morning all,
Further to Eleanor's earlier request for information regarding
confidential waste policies, I wondered if anyone has any experience of
setting up the use of just one shredding company within their
organisation, to manage the destruction of confidential waste?
We are currently looking into drawing up an invitation to tender for
one
company to manage all of our confidential waste (from numerous sites
throughout the borough) and wondered if any organisations have had
experience of this?
I am also happy to post back a summary of responses to the list if
anyone
is interested.
Kind regards,
Ava
