Francis, I endorse Tammy's comments and ask you to withdraw the
outrageous and unsubstantiated accusation against the Science Media
Centre. As a member of its advisory board I can vouch that it is not
part of "an ideological Hydra". The SMC has done more than any other
organisation over the past few years to improve coverage of science in
the UK media.

The purpose of my reference to this stable of organisations was to
highlight the fact that what we have here is an ideological Hydra, of
which Martin Durkin and a number of anti-science lobby groups
masquerading as science public outreach initiatives are a part.
Organisation names may change, but the people involved are the same.
