Maybe it was the date that prompted the low key launch of the Science and
Technology Facilities Council. I noticed it this morning when my web
watching robot showed the STFC home page rather than that of the CCLRC.

This raises an issue about the fate of the original web sites. Historians of
science may well want to know what PPARC and CCLRC got up to.
Try to get at the CCLRC web site and you automagically end up on the STFC
site. PPARC still has its old stuff, but explains that this is a temporary
measure. Grab it while you can.
I wonder if the British Library has archived these sites. If so, does anyone
know how people are supposed to get at that historical data?
