Unless somebody is specifically asking for a response in the "appreciate any
suggestions" manner, I try not to make any public response to any problems I
hear or see in 'the plumbing.' I back channel suggestions occasionally.
That does not mean I don't make occasional reflections on the value I see in
a particular work. I generally shut up if I am left in neutral or worse!
Unless somebody makes what I find a politically, etc. outrageous view in a
poem.
Hal is a pro. I don't front channel meddle with his plumbing. And I
appreciate the generous multiple ways in which he shares his work and the
work of the others.
Candice, you clearly like to respond to much and often. It's curious that
you never put any of your work up here. I realize that is not a requirement.
But it would permit folks to know what you are about and how how your poems
may or may not inform your critical sense and/or if you are looking for
input or not. Otherwise you are always on one side of the plate. Which,
frankly, seems a bit awkward. And I think we are mostly poets here.
