Apologies for cross posting.
Places still available for a one-day conference on 21st May 2007 for art, design, media and communications.
Electronic pdps provide an excellent and exciting visual means of engaging in PDP processes whilst providing an end product that is valuable to students professionally, when they graduate. The Progress Files for Higher Education (2000) policy initiative states that the PDP (personal development planning) element of the policy objectives should be operational across the whole HE system and for all HE awards by 2005/06. The key concepts of PDP (reflection, acting on that reflection and recording achievement) fit well into the traditions of art and design education.
The conference will:
- Identify key features of practice in this area
- Give examples of practice
- Consider key implementation issues.
It will draw on a research project conducted for the Art, Design, Media Subject Centre (conducted by the Centre for Research and Evaluation at Sheffield Hallam University, project leader Sue Drew).
The conference will be held at Sheffield Hallam University.
