Dear Colleague,
I am organising a mini conference on Thursday June 14 at Glasgow University
to launch the Macro/ Finance componenent of the Scottish Institute for
Research in Economics (SIRE). This is an exciting new venture funded by the
Scottish Funding Council which seeks to create critical mass in Economics
in Scotland.
I've signed up Andy Rose, University California, Berkeley, and Carl Walsh,
University Berkeley, Santa Cruz, as the keynote speakers for this event and
intend having four presentations by some new macro hires around the keynote
addresses.
We have finance to support travel for this event and I would be grateful
for offers to act as discussant for the four papers by local faculty
members (I'm not having discussants for the keynotes)
I'll be in touch nearer the time with fuller details of the day's events
but in the meantime if you are interested, please register with my
secretary, Jane Brittin ([log in to unmask]). Many thanks.
Best wishes,
Ronnie MacDonald
