In the mid 19th century Brogden & Sons (ironworkers etc from Cumbria) had
interests in South Wales. These were most noticeably the Tondu Iron Works
and involvement in the Port & town of Porthcawl. I believe they were also
involved in the railways and of course the coal (and Iron?) mines in the
Bridgend area.
As well as the Tondu site & Porthcawl itself are there any sites with a
Brogden connection that can be visited?
