Salary: up to GBP 25,889 (Level 4, point 1) per annum
Applications are invited for a researcher to work with Professor Nigel
Gilbert on a project investigating how EU-supported research collaborations
are formed and the motivations for collaboration.
The post will involve qualitative interviews with scientists in Europe, and
the analysis of interview and documentary data.
The post is associated with the European Union Framework 6 project, NEMO
(Network Models, Governance and R&D collaboration networks), which is
investigating the interplay between the political governance, structure and
function of politically induced R&D collaboration networks. An overview of

The post will involve some travel in Europe to interview respondents.
Experience in qualitative interviewing and analysis of interview data, and
an interest in science and technology studies are essential and competence
in a European language in addition to English would be helpful. It is
available for 18 months from 1st June 2007 or as soon as possible
thereafter.
