Deputy Librarian
This is a whole time site management post, providing day-to-day supervision of junior library staff and the co-ordination of customer services, the circulation and collection management functions of the libraries at Glenfield and Leicester General Hospitals. Also the library services that UHL libraries have a Service Level Agreement (SLA) in place to support. A major feature of the role will be to liaise with the deputy librarian on the other site to provide a seamless and co-ordinated service.
The post holder will be expected to show initiative and good organisational and customer care skills and work with minimum supervision over long periods of time, including cross site project work.
UHL NHS Trust libraries provide a multidisciplinary information service. This post involves close working with clinical and corporate directorates as well as being part of our management team to maintain and develop service wide systems, facilities and services.
