There is a discussion going on right now about this, initiated by Ulrich
Swickerath. Also I know that people (in Bldg. 28 at CERN IIRC) had come
up with the start of a proposal to deal with this. I tried to find the
presentation dealing with this issue, but couldn't, sorry.
Oh wait, I did find it: Markus Schulz's presentation at the March GDB.
His talk does not include a concrete proposal, but mentions this issue
(along with several other 64-bit issues).
Alessandro I suggest you contact Ulrich. If there are other sites
(besides CERN) that feel this is a high priority issue, you can let me
know and I will raise it at the TCG. I assume Alessandro will raise
this thru the ATLAS TCG rep.
