Dear All,
An issue with Storm and BDII cropped up the other day, (Greig Cowan
pointed this out to me). My SE reports (presumably incorrectly) that
it supports RFIO, while also failing to report that it supports POSIX
IO. Working through the problem I found that running the command:
ldapsearch -LLL -x -H ldap://bfa-se.phy.bris.ac.uk:2135 -b
mds-vo-name=local,o=grid
The LDAP search actually just re-produces (word for word) the contents
of the static LDIF file:
/opt/lcg/var/gip/ldif/static-file-SE.ldif
RFIO is defined as a supported protocol in this file, which is why it is
being display in the ldapsearch. I guess that you guys already knows
this. In theory Storm includes it's own Info-providers
/opt/lcg/libexec/lcg-info-dynamic-storm
But Flavia Donno insists that they do not work yet (and this would seem
to be the case in practice) - I'm trying to get confirmation that this
is indeed that case from the Storm developers. Question is, how do
people normally configure the Info-Providers for their SE. Is it done
by hand (i.e. by editing static-file-SE.ldif) ? Or do other SRM
implementations configure the static LDIF file for the user at install
time? Or, do other SRM implementations actually use dynamic Info
Providers?
Assuming Storm will have to be statically configured for the time being,
where is some good documentation on what I should put in my
static-file-SE.ldif?
regards
Jon
