Hi Jel,
So what are the downsides [as in the 'if it can go wrong, it probably will'
scenario] of installing it?
Do you get clashes with AV or firewall apps? Do progs like Quicken run ok?
Will there be hours of 'tweaking' to get things running smoothly?

Hi all
If you are still running Windows, then perhaps have a look at this
http://ubuntu.com
The latest release ie 7.04, called the Feisty Fawn.
Installs like a dream. Will leave your Windows partition alone, so you can
keep that.
Beryl is now in the ubuntu repositories, and can be installed easily.
If you want to see Beryl, then
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xC5uEe5OzNQ
has great music and compares Vista with Beryl - guess who wins :)
(it ends with the famous CNN windows scanner blue screen of death clip.
Rebecca came home from Africa and said 'Ok, now I've had enough of windows'
Installed ubuntu, and hasn't looked back :)
Cheers
Jel
