So, we know how many Practices there are, and knew it to within a few no
less than a year (if not five years) ago.
And we know how many questions there are in QOF, and have known at least
since December when it was signed off.
And we know what the date is.
So why is it so hard for the NHS to get a computer system which will
actually do what it is supposed to do, and accept the number of data
from the number of practices on the appointed day - first working d
after end of reporting period? (Damn thing could be rented,
virtualised, variable in capacity with a peak on month ends and year
ends, it needn't sit idle).
And why does the system report not "I am harrassed, overworked, and
can't cope with you as well just yet, there just isn't enough of me to
go round" rather than "Server has encountered internal problem"?
Perhaps all the people who can competently specify a system for variable
loads are busy working for NPfIT.
Haha.
