This is disputable - IANAL - under the doctrine of first sale wherever
that applies, but that is disputable -IASNAL - under the argument that
despite you giving them something that looks like money for something
that looks like a made object in a box, you have not in fact bought
ownership of anything, merely a licence to use it, with the agreement of
the copyright holder (see above) under certain conditions.
The GNU General Public Licence is by comparison a model of simplicity
and clarity.
