I believe that I started the thread on the last occasion. I declined
and stated that I was not prepared to do the report at that point in
time as the information they were requesting - i.e. dates of onset etc
had no relevance to the care of the patient at that point of time. I
also stated as mentioned later in this thread that they should have
determined the dates of onset at the time that the insurance was
initially taken out, and that having taken the money of the patient to
insure them, they had an obligation to offer a service. I had no
repsonse back from them.
Surely they should deteremine at the outset whether they will insure
or not and on what terms, or they should argue the toss after the
repatriation. An adverse report from us and failure to repatriate etc
will only bring the warth of the patient onto us. As mentioned, this
happens year in and year out, and these firms need to be told by a
national body.
