GCG Seminar and Study Visit
A chance to have a detailed tour of Kelvingrove Museum and Art Gallery
after its £27 million redevelopment and to hear from the management team
and curators about the project and the philosophy behinds the new
interpretative structure of the Museum, including the natural science
galleries and discovery centre. This is an excellent chance to investigate
a complex and large scale capital development and to learn how curators
were integrated into this process.

1030 Coffee and welcome
1100 Kelvingrove Project - an overview: Sue Latimer, Senior Education and
Access Manager.
1130 Underpinning the new displays with sound research: the research
manager's role: Richard Sutcliffe,
Research Manager, Natural History.
1200 The Geological Curator's Role: Alastair Gunning, Curator of Geology.
1230 Lunch
1330 Tour of the building and displays.
1500 Tea followed by discussion.
1600 End of Meeting.
