Call in to NCD's Quarterly Meeting
Dear Readers,
The National Council on Disabilities (NCD) is an independent
federal agency that makes recommendations to both the President
and to Congress on disability policy issues. NCD's quarterly
meeting is in Atlanta from April 16-17, and while most of us are
unable to attend, NCD welcomes public participation and has
provided toll-free dial-in information below.
If you choose to participate, AAPD encourages you to ask NCD,
during one of the three public comment sessions highlighted below,
to take a strong stand with the Administration and Congress
regarding the importance of the U.S. signing and ratifying the
U.N. Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities. On
March 5, NCD wrote to the President and urged him to sign the
Convention. Call in and thank them for their leadership and ask
them to continue to apply pressure on the Administration to sign.
The following email about the meeting comes from Mark Quigley,
Director of Communications at NCD.

Hello: Here is the toll-free number for people with disabilities
who cannot attend the NCD Atlanta Quarterly Meeting but would like
to take advantage of the three Public Comment sessions.

Each person who would like to address NCD, whether on the phone or

comments. We will adhere to a strict time limit to give everyone a
chance to address NCD during the Pubic Comment sessions.
People with disabilities may submit longer written comments to me
if they are not able to adequately communicate their concerns in
two minutes.
Thank you.
