slap your consultants for being so cheeky - i think the wording of 'the way forward' says something along the lines of "the index cancer risk is somewhere between 1 in 10,000 and 1 in 100,000" (I'm paraphrasing there). I don't think thats sufficient justification for using the lowest end of that range :-)

The "way forward" was a consultation document for discussion, not new
guidance.
It does not say that an index cancer risk of 1 in 10000 should be used
from now.

Subject: Using 'the way forward'
Hi all,
I am currentely reviewing a consultants report. The consultants have
used LQM GAC's for the assessment of PAH, however they have stated in
the report that they have increased the all the GAC for individual
compounds by a total of 10 because the recent 'The Way Forward' says
that an index cancer risk of 1 in 10000 should be used from now. Is this
a suitable approach?
Your thoughts would be appreciated.
