Our PCT commissioners here in Tower Hamlets are not all callous brutes.
They want to do something effective about the awful state of wealth and
health among local people, especially the Bangladeshi and Somali
populations and we are wondering if we can gently guide them towards
thinking more about funding community psychology interventions. We'd like
to be able to present them with what they would recognise as an 'evidence
base' which illustrates the effectiveness of community psychology, or at
least some robust examples of good practice that might inspire them. I
could have a good trawl through Community Psychology journals and
textbooks, but if someone knows a good, easy to access way in to this sort
of information, with illustrations of how community psych work leads to
positive outcomes (numbers would be good, but not essential) it would be
very helpful.
Thanks all, and happy Easter/Passover/Tomb Sweeping Day
Deborah
