Dear All,
This is a reminder about the lecture taking place next Tuesday (1 May)
at the V&A.
Beth McKillop, Keeper of the Asian Department at the V&A, has asked me
to draw your attention to a free lecture, and to ask you to encourage
all those who are interested to attend.
The Great Tradition of Chinese Scupture

Lecture Theatre, Victoria and Albert Museum, South Kensington, London

Please use the Exhibition Road entrance at the side of the museum.
Signs will be in place to direct you on the evening of the Lecture.
This lecture illuminates the difference between Western and Chinese
sculpture. Ann Paludan traces the history of Chinese sculpture
throughout the imperial period, in the light of ancient Chinese beliefs
and changing conditions.

Chinese Spirit Road: The Classical Tradition of Stone Tomb Statuary
(1991) and Chronicle of the Chinese Emperors (1998). Her latest work,
Chinese Sculpture, the Great Tradition, was published by Serindia in
2006. http://www.serindia.com
There is no need to book ahead.
Further information is available from the Asian Department at the V&A.
