SECOND CALL FOR PAPERS
The Department of Anthropology
The University of Sussex
We would like to invite postgraduate PhD students and
Post-Doctoral Fellows from the UK to submit papers for
an upcoming research-in-progress seminar series which
will run between April and June 2007.
The Department of Anthropology at the University of
Sussex is a dynamic and interdisciplinary department.
We are committed to using anthropology to explore the
predicaments of contemporary society, at home and
abroad. Current research interests include, but are
not limited to: human rights, development, religion,
the politics of identity, gender and household
relations, conflict and conciliation, science and
society, tourism, and political movements.
We welcome papers from any anthropological background
and fieldwork location. Presentations should aim to
be an hour in length, with forty-five minutes of
questions to follow. The seminars will run on
Tuesdays, between 4:15 and 6:00pm.
Please submit an abstract of between 100-200 words
detailing the paper you would like to present. Please
be sure to include a title, a brief description of the
author, and contact information.
If your paper is accepted, transportation costs can be
remunerated.
Submissions and Inquiries should be directed to Kate
Nielsen [log in to unmask] by 15 April 2007.
