Hi Peter
This type of training is done by rehabilitation or mobility officers that
have completed higher education training specifically within the field of
visual impairment. We have a travel training unit here in Bradford and they
refer people who are visually impaired on to the rehabilitation officers
based at social services
If you are aiming to provide the training to people who have already had
in-depth training in mobility including a module on bus travel then it might
be worth speaking to the rehabilitation officers in your local area to seek
information and advice on suitability/methods of travel for particular users
of your service before signing them up to the service
Regards
Elaine Pinkney

Subject: Travel training - other than Learning Difficulties
Looking for information - or already developed materials - to assist a new
local Travel Training programme which helps disabled people become
independent users of public transport.
The programme already has established links and contacts for travel
training for people with Learning Difficulties: they are currently
specifically looking for material to help with travel training for people
with mobility or sensory impairments.
Thanks.
