Hi Sandy,
You should start with Americans with Disabilities Accessibility Guidelines
(ADAAG) re alarms, door bells, telephone lights, hotel accommodations for
notifications. Will be more explicit if you would like.
For starters:
The DOJ (Dept of Justice) regulation goes on to define
"auxiliary aids and services" to include:
Qualified interpreters, note takers, transcription services, written
materials, telephone handset amplifiers, assistive listening devices,
assistive listening systems, telephones compatible with hearing aids,
closed caption decoders, open and closed captioning, telecommunications
devices for deaf persons (TDD's), videotext displays, or other effective
methods of making aurally delivered materials available to individuals with
hearing impairments; ...and ... other similar services and actions.
