University Teacher in German (Maternity leave cover)
Applications are invited for the above post in the Department of German Studies at the University of Nottingham, which is one of the leading German departments in the UK with top ratings for research (5* in RAE 1996 and 2001) and excellent ratings for teaching.
The successful candidate will provide post A Level German language teaching, as well as non-language modules based on their areas of expertise on both German literature and culture and German history and politics. They will also share in the academic administration of teaching in the Department.
Candidates should have a PhD and experience in teaching German language at university level to native speakers of English. They should be able to provide research-linked teaching in non-language modules in the Department's undergraduate syllabus.
Salary will be within the range £24,402 - £30,913 per annum, depending on qualifications and experience (salary can progress to £34,793 per annum, subject to performance). This post is available from 1 September 2007, will be offered on a fixed-term contract for a period of 10 months and is open to job share.
