Dear All
Please find below the updated invitation for the European User Meeting
2007 in London. We had to move the meeting by one month to ensure that
Manifold representatives can attend. Hope this causes not too much
inconvenience and hope to see you all there:
The Department of Geomatic Engineering, University College London, would
like to invite all current Manifold GIS Users, as well as other GIS
software users interested in learning more about the Manifold GIS, to
join us for the second edition of the European Manifold User Meeting. We
are planning to hold the meeting on the 9^th and 10^th of July, at the
Department of Geomatic Engineering, UCL, London, UK.
The meeting will be an extended format from last time, and will cover a
day and a half, including the opportunity for tutorials using the GE
Computer Cluster.
We will have presentations & discussions from Manifold Users and Dimitri
Rotow, product manager for Manifold will present the 2007-2008
development roadmap and upcoming update, which would be of interest to
all users, giving the community a rare opportunity to engage first-hand
with Manifold the company!
Dimitri also kindly agreed to host a presentation of the benefits of the
Manifold GIS package, which will be primarily aimed at potential and new
users of Manifold.
We have the following agenda items confirmed so far:
_Monday the 9^th of July (morning & afternoon):_
* Manifold Company presentations:
o A detailed technical discussion of the next big release of
Manifold
o Presentation of the Manifold technical roadmap for the next
year.
o Ample opportunity for discussion with Manifold representatives.
* Manifold User presentations.
* Drinks at the Pub after the meeting, followed by a Diner for
attendants (we will book a restaurant)
_Tuesday morning, the 10^th of July:_
* A Manifold presentation aimed at potential new users, detailing
the many benefits the Manifold GIS can offer to existing and new
GIS users.
* A workshop at the GE Computer Cluster for existing Manifold Users
focused on the following practical tasks:
o Introduction to Oracle Spatial using Manifold GIS
o Introduction to the Manifold IMS
We would appreciate users who are willing to participate actively in the
meeting, by way of short presentations & discussion topics, and also
specifically if someone is interested to help out with the tutorials!
