Dear Beate,
currently, the only way to view the underlying image without blobs is to
remove the blobs by using something like
spm_orthviews('rmblobs',1)
spm_orthviews redraw
and to add them again if you want to see them again. To get
image/coordinate etc information, just issue
spm_orthviews('addcontext')
and you will get the CheckReg image context menu, displaying current
coordinates etc.
