I with keeping the list reply-to-list: although that is not the
recommended behaviour on most listserv software, it is the default on
almost all academic lists.
Something I do on lists where I'm afraid of publishing private
comments--on dm-l and tei-l, for example--is subscribe using two email
addresses. One address I set to nomail and the other (my usual email
address) I set to moderate: I use the one set to no-mail for posting to
the list and the one set to moderate for reading messages. That way I
have to consciously decide to mail to the list. Any accidental replies
from my usual account are caught at the listserv and I have time to
email the listowner asking to have the mail deleted.
