Dear friends and colleagues
You will have seen the many responses posted on this mailbase following
the sad news of Eithne McLaughlin's death. They have expressed very
clearly people's shock and sadness at the news and give some indication of
the great loss this represents to the social policy community.
There have been various suggestions for remembering Eithne and her unique
contribution to social policy. This is also the concern of the SPA
Executive and we will be discussing the various ideas that have been put
forward and the role that the Social Policy Association can play, at our
next meeting in early May. There have been several suggestions including a
studentship, a memorial lecture, and a prize. If you feel that you would
like to put forward any other suggestions please let me know and I shall
ensure that they are included in our discussions.
Best wishes
Tess Ridge
