You lost me at this point, (I assume conspecifics is the object here.)
Now the diff between rhetorical and grammatical anaphors seems to be
the diff between 'going over' [describing] and 'going
back' [refering]. In both cases the diff makes the turning easier, in
order to go around some object(ion), if not to actually return to the
subject (((((((though the logical subject (matter) is often the
grammmatical object)))))).
At least diffs do if they were round mechanical things connecting by
an axle.
Are conspecifics parallel wheels?
