AHDS Performing Arts has been successful in its e-Science Programme bid to
hold a summer school on digital representations of performance at the
e-Science Institute, Edinburgh on 18th-20th July 2007. This generous
support from the eSI allows AHDS Performing Arts to bring together a range
of speakers to explore the collaborative possibilities that exist between
the e-Science and Performing Arts communities. The event will consider the
opportunities offered to Performing Arts scholarship by e-Science and
address ways in which e-Science technologies can help shape future
directions in the access and use of digital Performing Arts collections.
Seamus Ross, Director of HATII at the University of Glasgow, the centre in
which AHDS Performing Arts is based, was delighted with the news saying 'the
successful bid is testament to the hard work and determination of the AHDS
Performing Arts team and the synergy between arts and e-Science.'
Encouraging collaboration between those working in Performing Arts and
e-Science has already produced valuable and exciting research and this 3-day
summer school is set to continue this work.
A programme and booking details will be released soon but if you would like
