There may be such filters on some out-of-office programmes, but I'm afraid
it's probably something we have to live with. Fortunately, these
programmes only send the notice once, otherwise, when Ian receives his own
out-of-office message, it would send out another in response!
I don't think it's a huge problem. We're only likely to get such messages
occasionally, and it does alert everyone to the opportunity to go to his
office and steal his stapler.
